Extended Hands Cancer Ministry

Extended Hands” only works when each person extends a hand to help others.

Ann Ball, Founder

Ann Ball Founder and Executive Director of Extended Hands Cancer Ministry, Community Development Corporation formed this organization in October 2009.  The goal of the ministry is to support anyone facing a cancer diagnosis by providing Hope and compassion through Spiritual Encouragement, Research, Education, Health Fairs, Screenings and Seminars.

It was May 2003 that Ann was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Hearing those devastating words was very difficult.  However, through God’s grace, much prayer, three surgeries and six-weeks of radiation along with family and friends support, Ann is cancer free.

Ann volunteers with the American Cancer Society and Komen for the Cure.

As Director, Ann provides leadership and strategies to strengthen and expand Extended Hands Cancer Ministry into a more solid organization that influences those it serves.

The History of Extended Hands Cancer Ministry,
Community Development Corporation
(Formerly Celebrate Life Cancer Ministry)

Extended Hands Cancer Ministry is a 501c3, non-profit, multiethnic health ministry for all cancer types. The ministry provides services and support to anyone facing cancer by sharing Hope and Compassion through Spiritual Encouragement. We also provide Educational programs, Health Fairs, and Free to Low Cost screening to the cancer fighters, survivors, caregivers, and their families through the compassion and care of “extended hands”.

In December 2002, Pastor Rhonda Santifer, a resident of Los Angeles, California survived a long and tedious journey with breast cancer.  As a grateful survivor, she made a personal commitment to encourage and empower others in their fight with cancer.  Her efforts were
fulfilled through the founding and development of “Celebrate Life Cancer Ministry”.

When Ann Ball was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003, she found herself in need of guidance, encouragement, and hope.  That help was provided through Pastor Santifer and the ministry.   Ann participated in all Los Angeles-based “Celebrate Life” events until December 2005.  It was at that time that she began a Las Vegas support group with the intention and purpose of helping others, just as she had been helped through her difficult life changing/altering journey.

“Celebrate Life Cancer Ministry (Las Vegas Chapter)” held its first support group meeting in March 2006 at the Church of Christ, North Las Vegas, wherein Brother Leo Gay is the Spiritual Leader.  The ministry continued to meet there through 2008.  However, in October 2009, Celebrate Life Cancer Ministry became “Extended Hands Cancer Ministry” Community Development Corporation, presently we meet monthly at the West Las Vegas Art Center.
The future goal of Extended Hands Cancer Ministry, Community Development Corporation is to establish a CANCER SURVIVOR’S RESOURCE CENTER, a place where survivors can pick up much-needed resources at no cost to them.
The ministry has helped hundreds of people through its support meetings, Awareness Health Fairs, Annual Cancer Awareness Prayer Breakfasts and Silent Auctions, Survivors’ Day Luncheons, provision of financial resources, and spiritual encouragement as noted in the the services listed below:

Telephone Support
Treatment Buddies
